He came to faith as a 13-year-old when five schoolmates in public school shared the gospel message with him. Pastor Craig enjoys travel, visiting over 10 nations as part of pilgrimages or personal travel. He plays golf as often as he can! His passion for ministry focuses on his call to “restore the beauty of the church” by serving churches who are seeking a new season of growth and vitality. Shuk Ling Chan studied sociology and intercultural competencies. She was born and raised in Hong Kong and has been living in Austria for the past 18 years, which she now considers her second home.
She has more than 19 years of experience in sales, commercial operations, customer service, process management, and project management within international business environments. Having worked exclusively in global enterprises, she is very familiar with international cooperation and organizational processes. Throughout her career, she has experienced multiple corporate restructurings, including mergers, acquisitions, the establishment of new production plants, and company relocations.
Shuk Ling is a curious and creative person who enjoys observing her surroundings and conducting her own research on topics of interest. For several years she has worked as a team leader and has been reflecting on what ideal leadership might look like—leadership that fosters a sense of belonging, encourages personal development, and helps create workplaces that function as safe communities where people can flourish and grow in character, while also recognizing the importance of contributing to the business itself, which provides the space and opportunities for people to work together.

Dr. Courtney Owens is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Leadership and Management at Alliance Manchester Business School. Following completion of her MBA degree from University of Washington, Courtney opened a business which spanned both the US and Middle East, providing training services and project management support. After some time in the middle east, Courtney went to the University of Manchester where she completed her PhD in Organizational Psychology. She is now a full-time academic and has proven her expertise in delivering well-received teaching programs that have lasting impact. With a focus on Executive Education, she assists organizations in developing their capabilities in people management, self-management, and leadership. She participates in the bid, proposal, design, and development of new programs and is ongoing Program Director for an accelerated leadership development program for the defense industry.
Her teaching is focused on personality traits and leadership. She places a particular emphasis on understanding the self, the strengths and challenges of our personality, and the impact that may have on our ability to lead well. She has won awards for her teaching. She also teaches outside the UK and has won an Erasmus grant providing a teaching opportunity in France.
She conducts research in the areas of personality, leadership, and the pedagogy of leadership programs. She has a particular interest in investigating personality profiles and the measurement of impact in executive education programs. She has publications in the Journal of Personality and Individual Differences and a variety of book chapters. Courtney often presents at Academy of Management and British Academy of Management. She is a chartered organizational psychologist through the British Psychological Society and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Dr. Natalie Winter is a tenured professor of Business Administration at California Baptist University. She earned her doctorate degree in organizational leadership from Pepperdine University and her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in business from Azusa Pacific University. Natalie also earned her Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She teaches a variety of classes at CBU including Business Policy and Strategy, Management Based on Biblical Principles, Introduction to Business, and International Business. In addition, she frequently speaks to organizational leaders on topics including Developing the Next Generation of Leaders, Professional Decision-Making & Ethics, and Time Management. Her scholarly writing and research focus is on generational differences, integration of biblical principles in business, and leadership development. Natalie serves on the Executive Board for the Mission Viejo Girls Softball league, as a Board Member for Sabai Global, Inc. and is a women’s ministry teacher at Compass Bible Church in Aliso Viejo, CA.

Mary Ann Harris has been serving as a faculty member at Bethel University since 2005, teaching various marketing courses such as consumer behavior, digital marketing and the senior marketing seminar. Her integration of work with community organizations recently garnered her the Civic Engagement leadership award by the Seed Coalition of the Midwest.
She is passionate about the intersection of faith in the marketplace and has presented on this topic at various academic conferences as well as publishing in the Christian Business Review. She was awarded the Edgren Scholarship at Bethel where she and a student partner analyzed award winning television commercials to trace back their value roots. She is especially interested in how marketing influences culture and completed her dissertation on the ‘impact of storytelling on advertising effectiveness’. She has also consulted with a variety of organizations in the Twin Cities ranging from advertising agencies to consumer-packaged goods and medical technology companies. She is married to John and has three grown children. Her perfect day consists of walking around a beautiful Minnesota lake, drinking a cup of good coffee and dissecting life with a fellow culture lover.

Dave Landrum is the Executive Director of Biblical Leadership for Excellence, based in San Antonio, Texas. BLE provides courses and resources to see a community of believers equipped as effective ambassadors of Christ in the workplace and public life, living fully integrated lives. Originally from the UK, he led Bible Society’s parliamentary advocacy work and helped to establish the public theology think-tank Theos. Dave was Director of Advocacy at Evangelical Alliance, where he oversaw the public policy work and established the Public Leadership program. He was also Director of Advocacy and Public Affairs at Open Doors UK and Ireland. His academic work and media engagement has involved cultural analysis, human rights, civil liberties, citizenship, and identity – all increasingly framed by a focus upon post-secularism and post-liberalism. He is the author of Seismos – Christian Citizenship in a Post-Christian West (2025). He is married to Valeria, and lives in San Antonio.

Thomas Parks teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on business ethics, Christian faith and the marketplace, as well as the intersection of business and spirituality. His teaching is centered on ethicality within relationships and explores the systems and practices that undergird and inform the quality of those relationships.
Alongside teaching, Thomas seeks to further meaningful work for organizations and individuals by integrating values, relationships and strategy through his company, Planted Living. Prior to teaching and consulting, he enjoyed working in commercial construction management and pastorally within the church. His theological perspective, pastoral background and work experience reinforce a holistic approach to work that connects the aspirational with the practical.
Thomas is thankful to be an invested husband and father. He enjoys working in the garden, cooking, getting out in nature and small household projects.

Prof. univ. dr. dr. habil., Sebastian Văduva, MBA, is professor, entrepreneur, consultant and corporate trainer with an extensive international experience in business and IT. Having immigrated to the US in 1989, he started his first business at age 17 and several others since then. He returned to Romania as a business missionary in 2004 and is married to Lois and the other they have one daughter, Evelyn.
He holds an undergraduate degree in marketing, an MBA in international business, a PhD in comparative entrepreneurial systems, a PhD in political studies and a habilitation in international management. He has authored or co-authored 16 books and over 50 academic journal articles.
He served as the interim director of the Center for Organizational development at The University of Akron, a Fulbright scholar, the dean of the Griffiths School of Management and IT, the director that is currently the editor and chief of the Journal of Ethics in Entrepreneurship and Technology. Sebastian has delivered over 10.000 hrs. of corporate executive education and mentoring, is an international conference speaker and a frequent guest on radio, television, and various podcasts where he promotes business principles built upon Christian values and practices.

Chris Armstrong is a church historian, educator, author, editor, and academic entrepreneur. He taught from 2004 to 2013 at Bethel Seminary, St Paul, Minn, where he founded and directed Work with Purpose, a faith and work initiative. From 2014 to 2018 he served as faculty member and founding director of Opus: The Art of Work at Wheaton College (IL), a faith and vocation center. From 2019 to 2023, he served the Kern Family Foundation as Program Fellow, planning and executing faculty development initiatives for a national network of professors. Since 2012, Chris has also served as Senior Editor of Christian History magazine; he also currently serves as Editor of Faith & Flourishing. Chris became a church historian to learn how Christians have lived out their understandings of God, humanity, and the world; the same impulse drives his current research on faith, vocation, and human flourishing. His recent book Medieval Wisdom for Modern Christians: Finding Authentic Faith in a Forgotten Age with C S Lewis (Brazos, 2016) retrieves medieval themes of faith and life as a resource for today’s Christians. Chris is currently working on a book with the working title Fully Human: A Brief History of Pro-Flourishing Faith.

Maria Horning is the Vice President for Leadership Development at Legatum, a Dubai-based investment firm. She is passionate about creating hospitable environments for personal growth and interpersonal contact, believing in the power of relationships and cohesive teams to drive positive, transformative change. Prior to joining Legatum in 2023, Maria was a Senior Program Director at Geneva Global, a philanthropic consulting firm. Jay Moon is a Professor of Evangelism & Church Planting and the Director of the Office of Faith, Work, and Economics at Asbury Theological Seminary. He authored six books, including Missional Vibrancy and Financial Viability: Alternate Financial Models for Churches and Church Plants When Tithes and Offerings are Not Enough. He also edited five books, including Entrepreneurial Church Planting: Innovative Approaches to Engage the Marketplace. He is a frequent speaker on areas of church planting, evangelism, discipleship, and marketplace mission in both the U.S. and over 13 countries. In addition to his role as a teaching pastor in a local church plant, Jay holds a Professional Engineer’s license and has started a handful of small businesses including the design/build/management of deluxe tree houses. He teaches several business courses in the MBA program at the Dayton School of Business in Asbury University. He is presently the Vice President of both the American Society of Missiology and the Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education. He served 13 years as a missionary with SIM, largely in Ghana, West Africa among the Builsa people focusing on church planting and water development, along with his wife and four children (and now seven grandchildren). His hobbies include tree houses, axe throwing, and small business incubation.

Kent Saunders teaches a broad array of finance and economics classes. His research interests are teaching pedagogy, investments, and the countries of the former Soviet Union. Kent has been married to his wife Chrissie since 1991 and together they have three grown children and two dogs. Kent currently lives on three acres and enjoys growing a half-acre garden and a mini orchard. Additionally, Kent likes to play chess and hike to waterfalls. In 2019, Kent became a South Carolina “ultimate outsider” by visiting all 47 state parks in South Carolina. During the 2021-2022 academic year, Kent taught at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova as a Fulbright Scholar. Kent loves teaching at AU because he can share his whole self and does not need to compartmentalize his academic knowledge and keep it separate from his Christian faith.

Adeyinka’s doctoral research interest on how organizations make ‘good’ people do ‘bad’ things investigates the moral interactions between contexts and individuals especially in leadership. He teaches Business Ethics and regularly delivers keynote addresses to private and public sector audiences around the world. He is a published author and reviewer for top management journals and leading textbook publishers. Adeyinka continues to work with individuals, organizations and communities through his pastoral work at the Transforming Church UK. He is also a member of leading policy think-tanks in Europe and Africa and serves on the board of exciting start-ups and charities in both continents.

Mason Rutledge, M.Div., CLC, serves as President of New Canaan Society, a marketplace ministry serving men across 40 markets. He previously led with two Seattle-based ministries, C3 Leaders, CRISTA, and spent 25 years with Young. Prior to going into vocation ministry, Mason worked for the world’s largest software reseller. Mason has a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary and a bachelor’s from Washington State University. Mason has served as an Adjunct Professor at Western Seminary in Oregon and African Theological Seminary in Tanzania. NavPress published his first book, Memorize This! Mason serves as a member of the Equity and Inclusion Task Force for Everett Public School and as a Board member for the Snohomish County Public Facility District for Arts and Entertainment. Wlamir Goncalves Xavier is a professor of International Business and Finance at the Crowell School of Business, Biola University. His research focuses on higher education leadership, corporate governance, non-marketing strategies, and the performance of faith-oriented firms. He has been a visiting scholar at the University of Paris Dauphine, the Wharton School, the Copenhagen Business School, the University of La Sabana, Colombia, and Chongqing University, China. His experience includes a brand manager position for IBM, consulting, and business ownership of an IT firm focused on mobile computing for the sales force and fleet automation. Wlamir is the founder and vice president of the CW7 Group, a consulting firm that provides training on leadership, and supports the creation of start-ups. He is married to Danielle, the father of Isabela and Samuel, and serves as an elder at his home church.

Philip led his company to cofound two social enterprises, Red Propeller and KLINK® Coffee, to employ persons with barriers to employment. Philip connects the dots between brand, experience design and technology. He sees the critical value of addressing service gaps with an entrepreneurial mindset that aligns with his conviction of the common calling. This led to his creating CRE as the first innovation hub at a Christian university in Canada with a mission to equip emerging entrepreneurs to drive kingdom influence. His ongoing engagements with young adults, serving on the Advisory Council of Workplace Ministry for the Lausanne Movement, and on the board of the MoveIn Ministry deepen his understanding and experience of the relationship between leadership, ministry, and innovation.

On completing his BSc James worked in IT, and he vividly remembers the struggle he experienced from the disintegration between his work and his faith. Since then, James has worked with college students for over 17 years (three years in the UK, 11 in New Zealand, and two in Canada) to help students integrate their studies with their faith. In 2019, he was hired by InterVarsity to help train staff to integrate vocational discipleship into their work with young people, and to explore how InterVarsity could better support young people in the transition from study into the workplace. He continues to study Emerging Adulthood and the implications of this theory for faith development in young people. James and Jen live in Vancouver, Canada with their three wonderful children, and between the five of them they hold three different nationalities.

Her current projects include expanding the market reach of local small businesses in economically disadvantaged areas as a means of economic development, specifically through startups Meeting Place Coffee and The Coworking Center. Her research focus is on how faith shapes the roles and responsibilities of entrepreneurs and consumers in the marketplace, and the impact and feasibility of the triple bottom line. Jennifer lives with her husband, Kevin, and family in Lima, Ohio.

Susan recently completed her PhD in Organizational Leadership with a focus on employee engagement and well-being. In addition to her one-on-one mentoring and consulting, Susan has been an adjunct professor, an elected member of her neighborhood planning group, a CFO and partner in an environmental consulting business, and a financial analyst in several government contracting organizations. As a 2020 Fetzer Scholar, Susan has had the opportunity to expand her own development by researching religious diversity in the workplace and how workplace spirituality and social impact are interconnected. Susan serves on the board of Dignity Freedom Network, a non-profit that rescues, reclaims, and restores those in need in India. She and her husband live in San Diego, CA and enjoy sailing, hiking in the mountains, and walking along the beach.

Rob completed his PhD in Leadership Studies with an emphasis on Nonprofit Organizations. His dissertation focused on the role of microfinance in building social capital among rural South African women. Rob has been at PLNU since 2005 and teaches several different classes for the International Development major, Leadership classes for the MBA program, and International Business for undergraduates. Prior to his current position, Rob served with World Relief, the global Microcredit Summit Campaign, and as a missionary in Malawi. Rob is an ordained elder with the Church of the Nazarene and currently serves as the board chair for Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, Inc. Rob recently co-authored a book Development in Mission: A Guide for Transforming Global Poverty and Ourselves (2021). Rob enjoys travel and board games with his family. Rob and Wanda reside in San Diego and have a son enrolled at PLNU and a daughter attending Eastern University in PA.

Adrian’s fields of study are political science and economics, with his PhD thesis focusing on political economy, crisis economics, and economic governance in the wake of the 2008 global financial crisis. His professional experience includes consulting, post-doctoral research, and business development. For the past four years, Adrian has been working with the IFES Graduate team, with a focus on helping young graduates flourish as followers of Jesus, finding purpose in their work, and learning to influence and impact those around them for good. Adrian is married to Paula. They have two children and live in Romania.

Drawing on the theology of Hans Urs von Balthasar and the political philosophy of Enrique Dussel, Bill’s dissertation explored the relationship between the doctrine of salvation and economic ethics in the midst of drug-trade related violence in Mexico. Bill is currently studying and writing about the intersection of spiritual formation and vocational sustainability in the age of globalization. His other research interests include political theology, ecclesiology, and theology of religions. Bill has also recently been named director of Hill House Christian Study Center at the University of Texas at Austin.

Tobias Brügger received his MTh in Ethics from the University of South Africa in 2010, specializing in Christian Leadership. In his MTh dissertation, he explored the relationship between faith and international management in a multinational enterprise, combining conceptual research and a fieldwork-based study of business managers. Following additional theological studies in Zurich, he completed his PhD at the intersection of Theology and Management & Organization Studies. His dissertation explored the bodily character of Christian living in contemporary workplaces, again combining conceptual research and fieldwork studying business managers. He is currently conducting research on non-manageability and on Christians at work. His research interests include business ethics, Christian living, management, spirituality & religion, and leadership in organizations.

Dr. Lam is a fellow of the International Academy of Intercultural Research, and her research interests include diversity management education, leadership development, and corporate social responsibility.

John completed his PhD in Industrial Organizational Psychology, and his dissertation focused on measuring work and faith integration as expressed cognitively, affectively/attitudinally, and behaviorally. Prior to his current position, John held leadership positions in higher education and the non-profit sector, and has worked in management consulting and banking. John currently serves as a board member for Religion News Service and Religion News Foundation and as an advisor to InterVarsity’s Emerging Scholars’ Network. Outside of work, John enjoys reading, travel, hiking, and writing/teaching on issues related to the academy, business, faith, and culture. John and Vanja live in Middleton, Wisconsin with their four-year-old daughter, Elena.

Larry W. Sharp is the founder of and current BAM specialist at International Business and Education Consultants (www.ibecventures.com). He served 21 years in Brazil and then 20 years as Crossworld VP of Operations and as Vice President of Business Partnerships. Since 2007, he has devoted his energies toward Business as Mission (BAM) and currently is a consultant on BAM and education themes. Dr. Sharp’s career focus has been in business, education, and supervisory roles. While in Brazil, he served for 15 years as teacher and headmaster of the Amazon Valley Academy, and for six years as President of the Missao Crista Evangelica do Brasil (MICEB). He travels within North America speaking and teaching in conferences, colleges, and churches on themes related to Business as Mission (BAM, B4t). His travels abroad relate to BAM, crisis preparation, management, and team building. He writes a weekly blog on www.ibecventures.com/blog and occasionally blogs on other sites. Larry serves on four boards including as the chairperson of the Freedom Business Alliance and is working with two university curriculum teams developing the integration of business with missional faith. Professor Brauer teaches organizational behavior, management and human resource management to undergraduate and MBA students as well as for public companies. His interest is in the integration of business, academia, and faith, as well as in providing training on the theme of faith and work for companies and churches in Brazil and Guinea Bissau, Africa. Dr. Brauer is a member of The Management, Spirituality, and Religion (MSR) Interest Group of the Academy of Management (AOM).

Helen completed her PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and her dissertation explored the concept of time in leader storytelling. In addition to teaching, Helen is a professional coach to business clients who seek to build their leadership capacity and effectiveness. Dr. LaBrie received his Ph.D. from Arizona State University. Prior to entering academia Ryan spent ten years with the Microsoft Corporation in a number of different capacities ending his time as a Program Manager in the Enterprise Knowledge Management group. His current research interests include information ethics, knowledge management, and the development of the information systems discipline. Dr. LaBrie has published in the Journal of Electronic Commerce Research, Journal of Management Systems, International Journal of Internet and Enterprise Management, Measuring Business Excellence, Encyclopedia of Knowledge Management, and the Encyclopedia of Information Ethics & Security, among others. Ryan teaches courses in database management, knowledge management, data mining, and data visualization. He has presented seminars or taught courses in over a dozen countries. Dr Faith Ngunjiri is associate professor of management (ethics & leadership) at Concordia College, MN where she is also director, Lorentzsen Center for Faith and Work. Dr Ngunjiri brings a unique mix of academic and professional experiences, having started her career as a high school teacher, then earned a master’s degree in Missions Studies while working at a church in Nairobi. Later she earned graduate degrees in Organization Development and Leadership Studies, both from Bowling Green State University (Ohio). Her academic career spans different institutional types – from Purdue University Fort Wayne to Yale Divinity School where she was associate director for Ethics and Spirituality at Work program, to teaching at Eastern University (St. Davids, PA) and now Concordia College (Moorhead, MN). She has taught all the way from 2nd grade to doctoral students, and gives talks, workshops and seminars on issues related to ethics, values, leadership, and spirituality in different organizations. Her research focuses on two main themes: spirituality at work, and women and leadership. She is solo author of Women’s Spiritual Leadership in Africa (SUNY, 2010); co-author of Collaborative Autoethnography (Routledge, 2013); Co-editor of Women as Global Leaders (IAP, 2014), Women and Leadership around the World (IAP, 2016), and Religious Diversity at Work (Cambridge, 2018) a couple dozen peer-reviewed articles in academic journals as well as scholarly book chapters. Dr Ngunjiri’s future goals include writing aimed at business and organizational leaders (rather than academics).

Professor Singleton has co-authored a book on 20th-century U.S. business leadership (Paths to Power, 2007) and researched responses by U.S. businesses to the “Urban Crisis” of the late 1960s, publishing a book chapter and a co-authored Harvard Business School case on William Norris of Control Data Corporation. Her dissertation analyzed the historical development of management theory using the concepts of “cooperation” and “purpose” from the work of Chester Barnard. She has published articles in the Journal of Management History and won multiple best paper awards in the Academy of Management, including the 2014 award for best paper based on a dissertation in the Organization and Management Theory Division. Professor Castelo is a Christian theologian who is currently researching and writing in the areas of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit (pneumatology) and Latino/a studies. His professional distinctions include winning the John Templeton Award for Theological Promise, participating in a two-year Wabash workshop for Latino/a faculty, and guest-editing an issue of the International Journal of Systematic Theology. He has served in formal capacities within both the American Academy of Religion and the Wesleyan Theological Society. He has lectured widely in Latin America and Europe. Dr. Castelo is an Ordained Elder in the Pacific Northwest Conference of the Free Methodist Church. In addition to being a prolific author, he enjoys teaching and preaching in local church settings. Dr. Darrell T. Cosden taught theology and philosophy at Judson University (Illinois) beginning in 2007 after 17 years in Europe (Scotland, Russia, and Ukraine). He was formally a lecturer at the International Christian College in Glasgow, and he taught theology and ethics in Ukraine at the Donetsk Christian University. Dr. Cosden is particularly interested in faith and culture and how ideas, philosophical and theological, shape contemporary and popular culture. His 2006 book, The Heavenly Good of Earthly Work, was listed among the “Books of the Decade” by London Institute of Contemporary Christianity magazine. Dr. Matthew Kaemingk’s research and teaching focus on Islam and political ethics, faith and the workplace, theology and culture, and Reformed public theology. His book on Christian political ethics titled Christian Hospitality and Muslim Immigration in an Age of Fear was published by Eerdmans in 2018. From 2013 to 2017 Dr. Kaemingk served as executive director of the Fuller Institute for Theology and Northwest Culture in Seattle, Washington. Founding the institute in 2013, he helped to launch three innovative theological initiatives with the help of two major grants from the Murdock Charitable Trust. These new initiatives were designed to equip regional churches to engage the arts, marketplace, and culture of the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Kaemingk is an ordained minister in the Christian Reformed Church.

Dr. Hannah Stolze is an active writer and researcher. Her primary research interest is sustainability. This includes environmental, social, and economic sustainability that can be achieved through logistics and supply chain management at the firm level and throughout the supply chain. Building on the inherent need for collaboration to achieve environmental supply chain management, she has also researched and published on the impact of social capital and social networks on cross-functional and inter-firm integration. Each year, the Center for Faithful Business (CFB) at Seattle Pacific University invites scholars from around the world to apply for the Bill Pollard Faith & Business Research Fellowship.
